Atticus

Hello again! It's Genna, and I'm back to blogging. This week's focus is on the name Atticus, after I saw the book To Kill A Mockingbird in the library recently. The name means "From Attica", and is of Latin origin. Obviously, its most famous bearer is Atticus Finch, who else? Summer Phoenix and Casey Affleck also named their son Atticus. In my opinion, it isn't a name I would ever use, but it's certainly a nice one.

Genna: My Name

First Post! It's nice to have my blog up and running. To start, I thought I would do an analysis of my own name: Genna. Genna is a variation on Jenna, which is short for Jennifer. It means 'white shadow' or 'white wave'. In 2012, it had a popularity ranking of 204. I couldn't find any famous people with the first name Genna, so I went with the Jenna spelling instead. Obviously, there is Jenna Marbles, the YouTube celebrity, and Jenna Jameson, a dancer/entertainer/performer. The origin of both names is English. My name is not short for Jennifer though; it's short for Genevieve! Keep reading! :)
